Caring for Your Products Based on Yarn Type

ANimal fibers (wool, alpaca, mohair, silk)

Washing: Hand wash only in cool or lukewarm water with a gentle wool wash (like Soak or Eucalan). Avoid extreme temperature changes and do not rub or wring, as this may cause felting and/or shrinking.

Drying: Gently press out excess water with a towel (never wring or twist). Lay the piece flat on a towel, shape it to its original measurements, and let it air dry away from direct heat or sunlight.

Storage: Fold garments and store them flat; never hang them, as they will stretch.
synthetic fibers (acrylic, polyester, nylon)

Washing: Machine wash on a gentle or permanent-press cycle with warm or cool water.

Drying: Machine-dryable on low heat. High heat from a tumble dryer or a hot iron can melt or stiffen synthetic fibers, leaving them scratchy or permanently damaged.
plant fibers (cotton, linen, bamboo)

Washing: Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water with mild detergent. Note: Cotton can shrink, so avoid hot water washes.

Drying: Can usually be tumble-dried on a low heat setting, but the safest method is to lay flat or hang to dry to prevent shrinkage.

Storage: Can generally be folded, but some heavy cotton garments may stretch if hung.
blends
Always follow the washing instructions for the most delicate fiber in the blend. For example, if a sweater is 80% acrylic and 20% wool, treat it as a wool garment (hand wash, lay flat) to prevent shrinking or felting.
